I want to know this because I have a game that I have on hold on a website and it is a japanese ps2 game. I have an american ps3 so I am wondering if it will work.

I want to make a Japanese account on my American PS3, so that I can access all of the games from the Japanese Playstation Store. I do not know how to do this, because I cannot read any of the text, since it is in Japanese. Could anyone tell me how to do this, or maybe a way to do it without having to create another account?

go to the website that you cannot translate, then take the URL and paste it in the link below where it says translate webpage… it will translate it into english as long as you do it right, make sure to change the translate from box to "Japanese BETA to English"

My boyfriend is trying to figure this out. I heard it could because of the backwards compatability, but can the North American PS3 play Japanese and PAL PS1 and PS2 games?

it will be able to play japaneese cos they are ntsc like us but not pal sysytems!

Hello. I am currently living in South Korea and am planning to live here until the end of 2009. I want to get a PS3 here, but I would want to change it to play North American games when I get back to Canada. I have been told that there is a chip or something that will do this. Any suggestions?

I've heard the same rumors. If I were you, I'd purchase the system and maybe an upgraded warranty for a year or so on it. If they are the same, you're in luck. If not, it'd be best to call Sony and ask them what to do. Some answers you get off here might trash a 600 dollar gaming console
